At the Western Slope Institute we believe that education is the key to creating a sustainable future, and our goal is to help individuals integrate regenerative practices into their daily lives while. Our 16-week Gap Semester program is based on a unique regenerative education approach designed to offer a holistic perspective on the interconnectedness of our environment and the people who inhabit it.

The semester program provides an experience that will support them as they transition into adults who are clear about who they are, what their gifts and talents are and how they might make a difference in their communities.  Through a blend of nature connection, personal development, and regenerative project design and implementation participants will gain the skills necessary to contribute to thriving socio-ecological systems. This program also includes cross-cultural service learning projects with regional Indigenous partners. This program is offered to participants who either currently live in Durango, CO or can relocate here for a semester.  It is meant to supplement the work you may already be engaged in as it is not a full time experience and will allow you the flexibility to work while in the program.   As a highly customizable offering this program can be tailored to meet your individual needs and participate in a larger role within The Western Slope Institute and the local community.
